Exhibitor fees: tables $10 (full tables only). Payable to: BS Poetry Society, Box 596 Stn A, Fredericton NB E3B 5A6. Doors open @ 11 AM for exhibitor setup. Contact (506) 454-5127, joeblades@nb.aibn.com to reserve tables and readings.
Free things (info, publications, calls for submissions, etc.) can be mailed to us for the distribution table. The fair itself will not sell for folks who can’t make it, but if you can arrange for someone local (say, a UNB student) to represent you @ the fair that would be great!

Toronto Small Press Book Fair
will be December 12th, 2009.
The Toronto Small Press Group is thrilled to announced that the next Toronto Small Press Book Fair will take place at the fabulous Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West, and yes, it will be on Saturday, December 12th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be books, prizes, raffles and READINGS...of course!

pm in Sackville, New Brunswick.
We are looking for crafters, zinesters, and small press type folk to
make this weekend really nice. This event is presented in
collaboration with Conundrum Press and the Anchor Archive Zine Library
Special guests include Andy Brown, Dusty Peas, Elisabeth
Belliveau and a bunch of other readers.
Tables cost $15 per day (you can share).
Deadline is July 17th.

the music festival)

Calgary Blow-Out to include Independent Press & Arts Fair!
filling Station, NoD, and CJSW present the 5th annual Calgary Blow-Out, held July 2 at Pages Books on Kensington and July 3 & 4 at Arrata Opera Centre in downtown Calgary.
This festival of innovative & original literature & art in its 5th year is bigger than ever! There are 7 events including two magazine launches, poetry and fiction readings, performance art, independent short film, two Exploding Concerts, and our first ever Blow-Out Art Show & Sale; for a complete listing, see calgaryblowout.blogspot.com
We're also expanding last year's inaugeral book fair into the Independent Press & Arts Fair. Micropress, small press, and artists producing art objets, artful handicrafts, and other smaller pieces will fill Arrata Opera Centre from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The events overlaps with the aforementioned Art Show & Sale's reception held from 1-4 pm. Fair vendors are welcome to enjoy the reception which includes music and refreshments.
Thanks to rob mclennan for pointing me to this blog. Next year we will be sure to include it in our call for Fair vendors. At this time, there are just 3 tables left. If you are interested, please contact Laurie via blowout.fs@gmail.com Tables are $20 or $10 plus the donation of a prize for our Silent Auction.

"once upon a time, way way back in October 1994, rob mclennan & James Spyker invented a two-day event called the ottawa small press book fair, and held the first one at the National Archives of Canada..." Spyker moved to Toronto soon after the first one, but the fair continues, thanks in part to the help of generous volunteers, various writers and publishers, and the public for coming out to participate with alla their love and their dollars.

admission free to the public.
$20 for exhibitors, full tables
$10 for half-tables
(payable to rob mclennan, c/o 858 Somerset St W, main floor, Ottawa Ontario K1R 6R7).
note for the sake of increased demand, we are now offering half tables. for catalog, exhibitors should send (on paper, not email name of press, address, email, web address, contact person, type of publications, list of publications (with price), if submissions are being considered & any other pertinent info, including upcoming ottawa-area events (if any). also, due to the increased demand for table space, exhibitors are asked to confirm far earlier than usual. i.e. -- before, say, the day of the fair.
the fair usually contains exhibitors with poetry books, novels, cookbooks, posters, t-shirts, graphic novels, comic books, magazines, scraps of paper, gum-ball machines with poems, 2x4s with text, etc, including (at previous events) Bywords, Dusty Owl, Chaudiere Books, above/ground press, Room 302 Books, The Puritan, The Ottawa Arts Review, Buschek Books, The Grunge Papers, Broken Jaw Press, BookThug, Proper Tales Press, and others.
